The new Museum on Floral Street in Downtown Bellingham will be a beautiful addition to Bellingham Culturally, physically, economically, ecologically and spirtualy. The new 42,000 square foot building is Architecturally beautiful ( see
www.bellinghamherald.com 11/8/09 ) it is a "green" building using Rain Gardens, passive solar heat and natural light, a toilet flushing system using rain water from the roof saving 200,000 gallons of water per year. The state of the art climate control system makes the Bellingham Museum eligible for world class traveling exhibits that we were exempt from previously because the old building did not have the preservative environment, required for these exhibits. Please read the link to the Bellingham Herald to get photos and more information. This is positive and wonderful news for the City of Bellingham.
